Derek Owusu and Travis Alabanza longlisted for the Jhalak Prize

We’re delighted that Derek Owusu’s Losing the Plot and Travis Alabanza’s None of the Above have both been longlisted for the Jhalak Prize, alonside an incredibly strong and eclectic collection of books.

The Jhalak Prize celebrates books by BAME writers from across genres, including both fictiona nd non-fiction. Last year our own Kei Miller made the shortlist with his collection Things I Have Withheld, and it’s delightful to see such a strong showing for Canongate again this year.
