Margareta Magnusson, Author of The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning
Canongate are saddened to hear of the passing of Margareta Magnusson, at 92. She was the author of Döstädning / The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning, which was adapted into a TV Show of the same name starring Amy Poehler, and the Swedish Art of Ageing Well. Our thoughts go out to her daughter Jane and her family.

Margareta Magnusson (1934–2026) was born in Gothenburg in Sweden on New Year’s Eve. She worked for many years as an artist and had her work exhibited as far afield as Singapore and Hong Kong.
