Mike McCormack longlisted for the Man Booker Prize for Fiction 2017

After winning both the Goldsmiths Prize and the BGE Irish Book of the Year Award in 2016, we’re delighted that Mike McCormack’s novel Solar Bones has made the longlist for the 2017 Man Booker Prize for Fiction.

Told from the perspective of engineer Marcus Conway as he sits at his kitchen table, Solar Bones recounts in continuous, flowing prose the story of a whole life, suspended in a single hour.

Mike McCormack said, “That's a nice start to the day - I'm honoured to be longlisted beside so many writers I admire for such a prestigious prize. I’m happy for all at Canongate also who did such a great job.”

Congratulations to Mike and to all the longlisted authors.
