15 years of Life of Pi – and a new audiobook

It’s been 15 years since we published Life of Pi in the UK, Yann Martel’s unforgettable story of a strange journey across the wild Pacific for a boy called Pi and a Royal Bengal tiger called Richard Parker.

It’s gone on to win the Booker, sell more than 13 million copies across the world, and inspire an Oscar-winning film. (It also did a lot to put a certain feisty but modest independent Scottish publisher on the map.)

To celebrate, today we’re releasing the first ever unabridged audiobook of Life of Pi, brilliantly read by Sanjeev Bhaskar – the perfect first introduction to Pi Patel, or the perfect way to re-experience this completely singular adventure. If you’d like (God we’re good to you), you can even listen to an extract of the audiobook.

“On the fifteenth anniversary of the publication of Life of Pi, it's exciting to have Sanjeev Bhaskar take up his tale to enthrall another generation of readers. Whether you're listening in your car or at home, I wish you luck and fortitude with Pi and Richard Parker and I hope you reach the coast of Mexico.”
