“Bluebeard’s Bathtub” by Margery Allingham read by Derek Jacobi. Ronald Torbay has his eye set on Edith, a former teacher whose father has recently died leaving her a tidy sum.
“Who Killed Zebedee?” by Wilkie Collins read by Patrick Malahide. Priscilla, the cook at a Lodging House reports the murder of one of the lodgers, John Zebedee, although the lodger’s wife confesses to the murder, all is not quite so straightforward.
“An Alpine Divorce” by Robert Barr read by Brian Cox. Features a couple who hate each other so much, they are driven to take a bold decision while on holiday in the mountains in order to obtain a divorce which is only possible through a criminal act.
“The Speckled Band” by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle read by Edward Hardwicke. Holmes and Watson receive a visit from Helen Stoner who is terrified for her life, this sets the two off on a trail of murder and treachery.
